  1. Basics

These General Terms & Conditions (GTC) govern the legal relations between the guest and the hotel.The hotel’s terms and conditions apply exclusively as they stand at the time of conclusion of the contract.

With the conclusion of the contract the guest agrees to comply with Liechtenstein’s reporting requirements.

 

  1. Contract objective / applicability

The contract for the rental of rooms comes into effect with the written confirmation by the hotel or, in the case of internet booking, with the booking confirmation of the guest.

 

  1. Scope of service

The scope of services of the contract is determined according to the reservation made by the guest.

Services not used will not be refunded.

If no room is available in the hotel despite a confirmed reservation, the hotel must inform the guest  immediately and offer an equivalent replacement in a nearby hotel of a comparable or higher category.

Any additional expenses for the replacement hotel shall be borne by the hotel. If the guest refuses the replacement hotel, the hotel must immediately reimburse the guest for the service already rendered.

 

  1. Rates, payment obligations, means of payment

All prices quoted in price lists, on websites or elsewhere are in Swiss francs (CHF) per night and room including breakfast buffet, service, statutory VAT (3.8%), accommodation tax (CHF 3.50 per person and night) and internet connection (wireless LAN).

An increase in statutory charges after the conclusion of the contract is at the expense of the guest.

Depending on the agreement, the hotel may require a deposit of 50% or prepayment of the full amount of the reservation. The down payment is to be understood as a partial payment of the agreed fee.

The hotel may also require a credit card guarantee instead of a deposit.

Payment is made directly upon arrival at the check-in terminal using a Maestro card, Twint or credit card (Mastercard or Visa). Please note that the pin code is required for payment.

 

  1. Room reservation cancellation charges

If a room reservation is canceled by the booking guest, the following fees apply:

5.1 Single booking

Cancellations free of charge are possible until 6 p.m. one day prior to arrival. Cancellations or changes made after this will be charged at 100% of the total amount.

5.2 Group bookings

Cancellation charges for group bookings can be found on the booking confirmation.

 

  1. Check in / check out

Check-in takes place via the terminal provided for this purpose at the reception. The guest receives the room card directly from the terminal after completing check-in. Upon departure, the room card must be discarded in the box provided for this purpose on the reception desk. 

The room is available starting from 2 p.m. on the day of arrival. On the agreed day of departure, the rooms must be vacated by 11:00 a.m. at the latest. The hotel is entitled to charge for an additional day if the rented rooms are not vacated on time.

If a room is occupied before 7 a.m., the previous night counts as the first night and is payable in full.

 

  1. No smoking and fire safety

According to the law of December 13, 2007 on the protection of non-smokers, smoking is forbidden inside the hotel. However, smoking on the balcony is allowed.

The following fire protection regulations must be obeyed throughout the building. Only the objects and devices belonging to the room furnishings may be used.

The use of kettles, ovens, toasters, immersion heaters, electric irons and similar devices is prohibited.

If an attempt is made to deliberately disable the fire detectors, a penalty of at least CHF 1,000.00 per room will be charged. In addition, all other resulting follow-up costs will be charged to the guest.

If the fire brigade is alerted by mistake or abusively, a fee of at least CHF 1,000.00 will be passed on to the party responsible.

 

  1. Keeping of animals

Bringing a pet requires the consent of the hotel. Basically, only dogs are welcome at the hotel. However, this is subject to the condition that the dog is under the constant supervision of the guest, is free of illnesses and otherwise poses no danger to hotel guests and hotel staff. 

Dogs are not allowed at breakfast.

A fee of CHF 20.00 per night applies for the dog and requires you to bring your own dog basket or dog blanket.

 

  1. Parking

Free parking for cars, motorbikes and bicycles/e-bikes is available for guests. The hotel assumes no liability for parking damage, theft or other damage to the vehicle during the guest’s stay. This also applies to bicycles/e-bikes parked in the garage.

For fire safety reasons, illegally parked vehicles can be towed away at the expense of the vehicle owner.

 

  1. Amenities

The hotel has the following amenities: WiFi, free parking, high-quality non-smoking rooms, flat screen TV/radio, safe, rooms that can be completely darkened as well as seating accommodation and/or a desk.

 

  1. Insurance

In any case, it is the responsibility of the guest to insure the materials brought in. The hotel can request proof of insurance before the reservation is confirmed.

 

  1. Liability and Contract Law

a) Hotel

The hotel waives liability within the framework of the legal possibilities for slight and medium negligence and is only liable for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence. The hotel is not liable under any legal title for services that it has merely arranged for the guest.

b) Guest

The guest is liable to the hotel for all damage and loss caused by him/her and his/her companion, without the hotel having to prove that the guest is at fault.

If a third party has made the booking for the actual guest, the third party is jointly and severally liable to the hotel for all obligations arising from the contract.

All claims against the hotel become time-barred six months after the guest’s departure, unless mandatory statutory provisions provide for longer periods.

If the contractual partner is a company, liability is also excluded for gross negligence.

 

  1. Illness of the guest

If a guest falls ill or is no longer able to act on his/her behalf, the hotel can notify a doctor without being asked. Medical care is at the guest’s expense.

 

  1. Internet

The hotel provides free internet access through WLAN.

The hotel accepts no liability for internet failures, damage caused by third parties, imported data of any kind (viruses, worms, Trojan horses, etc.), or for links to and from other websites. The hotel has no control over the content and form of external websites.

The hotel cannot guarantee the error-free functioning of hardware and software and points out that this site may contain technical inaccuracies or typographical errors.

Under no circumstances is the hotel liable to the guest or third parties for any direct, indirect, special or other consequential damage resulting from the use of this website or one of the websites linked to it. Any liability for lost profits, business interruption, loss of programs or other data in the guest’s information systems is also excluded. This also applies if the possibility of such damage is expressly pointed out.

 

  1. Privacy

The hotel undertakes to maintain the confidentiality of the guest’s personal data. The hotel makes content or services from other websites available to the guest through links on this site. These sites are not subject to the hotel’s privacy policy.

It is recommended that you review each of these pages and determine how each protects data. The guest provides the hotel with personal data for the purpose of communication or for reservations. The hotel reserves the right to use them for marketing purposes. There is no guarantee for the confidentiality of e-mails and other means of electronic communication.

 

  1. Final Provisions

All information (in particular prices, reservations, online calculations) is without guarantee. The hotel cannot guarantee that this data is completely up to date at all times. The hotel reserves the right to change or update the information on this page at any time and without prior notice. This also applies to improvements and/or changes to the products described on this page.

If possible, changes or additions to the contract and the reservation confirmation are always made in writing and are announced on the website www.giessen.li. Unilateral changes or additions are invalid. By paying for the booking, the guest accepts the general terms and conditions.

This contract and all disputes arising from it are subject exclusively to Liechtenstein law.

The place of jurisdiction is the registered office of the hotel or the ordinary place of jurisdiction of the defendant.
